The school was founded in 1974 by Rev. Fr. Adaikalasamy SDB. The school is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco ( Salesian Congregation) Initially as a primary school, later in 2002 Rev. Fr. Jayaprakash Reddy SDB initiated the process for High School. In June 2004 it became a matriculation school in the time of Rev.Fr. A.M. Matthew SDB. The first batch of high school students appeared for the Matriculation examination in 2005 .The school entered the Higher Secondary status in 2015 under the principal ship of Rev. Fr. L. Maria Louis SDB. The First batch for the Higher Secondary Examination would appear in 2017.
The Salesian Congregation has for its charism and mission after its founder Don Bosco, the care of poor and abandoned youth through the means of integral education which is founded upon the triple pillars of Reason, Religion and Loving kindness, The name and fame of Don Bosco educational Institutions is attributed to this system, The school acquires additional significance as it is part of a Shrine dedicated to its founder Don Bosco.
The Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School is run according to the principles of the saintly Founder and aims at developing the character and personality of each pupil, imparting sound education through wise training. This is a minority school meant primarily for Catholics but it also admits other children irrespective of caste and creed. Moral instruction to every student and Christian Doctrine to Catholics form an important part in the character formation of the pupils.
